Word from the President of the Republic
Presidents of the Honorary Committee,
President of the Organizing Committee,
President of the Scientific Committee,
Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen, Ministers,
Ladies and Gentlemen, Professors,
Dear doctors, researchers, partners and participants,
Distinguished guests,
It is with great pleasure and a deep sense of responsibility that I address you on the occasion of this International Congress Save Life in Africa (CISLA 2026), which brings together in this place high-level experts committed to a noble cause: saving lives on our African continent.
Africa today faces a dual health burden. On one hand, communicable diseases continue to weigh on our most vulnerable populations; on the other, non-communicable diseases are growing in scale, profoundly transforming our health systems. Faced with this reality, it is imperative to strengthen our capacities for prevention, early diagnosis and effective management.
I salute the relevance of the theme of this congress, as well as the scientific quality of the work that will be presented here. You, dear participants, are essential actors in the transformation of our health systems. Through your research, clinical commitment and dedication, you contribute to building more accessible, more effective and more equitable medicine.
Our common ambition must be clear: reduce preventable mortality and sustainably improve the quality of life of our populations. This requires strengthening health infrastructure, continuous training of health personnel, as well as integrating technological innovations into our medical practices.
I also wish to reaffirm the Government's commitment to supporting all initiatives aimed at improving public health, particularly in the areas of medical emergencies, chronic diseases and universal health coverage.
Finally, I would like to extend my most sincere encouragement to the organizers of this congress, as well as to all national and international partners who made this event possible. Your commitment is proof that Africa can count on itself, while opening itself to the world.
On this note, I declare the International Congress Save Life in Africa 2026 open, and wish full success to your proceedings.
Thank you.
